Reception September 2021

Unfortunately, as the school continues to ensure it does all it can (as part of its Covid19 response) to maintain as safe an environment as possible for children, staff and the wider school community, it has been necessary to amend our usual Open Morning and Open Afternoon arrangements this year. Instead of the normal presentation from the Headteacher and tours of the school, conducted by our Year Six Ambassadors, we will be offering parents/carers the opportunity to attend very small group tours of the school with a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

We know how important choosing the right school for your child is, and how important it is to have the opportunity to visit the school to get a 'feel' for it. Therefore we have taken measures to ensure that we can provide parents/carers with the opportunity to still visit the school and are very keen to welcome anyone who feels that St Mary's may be the right school for their child, and for their family, in the years ahead.

Tours will be conducted throughout November. They will be restricted to adults only and all visitors will be asked to wear a mask or face covering whilst on the school site. The numbers will be limited to four adults per tour. Visitors will be able to enter the school building but will not have the opportunity to physically enter classrooms or learning spaces; however, they will be able to look in and experience the learning taking place. Visitors will have the opportunity to ask as many questions as they like as they tour the school with a member of the Senior Leadership Team and we will do all we can to provide our visitors with as clear a picture of our school as possible at this unusual time.

We have asked our existing parents/carers with children due to start school in September 2021 to refrain from booking tours, in order to ensure we have the capacity to host as many 'new' parents/carers as possible. Dates for the tours are listed below. If you would like to book a tour, please contact the School Office by phone (01892 655 291) or email (office@stmarysrc.e-sussex.sch.uk).

We look forward to welcoming you to our school and sharing with you how your child and you could be a part of the St Mary's School Community, of which we are so proud.
