Term 2   2020

The Victorians

This term, Indigo Class will continue with their Victorian topic.

We will focus on the Victorian philanthropists, such as Dr. Barnardo and Lord Shaftesbury, who campaigned to improve the lives of Victorian children.

We will also learn about what it was like to attend school during the Victorian era.

In art, we will study the artists J.M.W. Turner and John Constable and will be taking our art lessons outside utilising the new shelter in the playground. We shall produce sketches of different landscapes using perspective to create a sense of scale.

In geography, we will be reading OS maps and looking at the different features contained in OS maps. We shall compare maps of Crowborough from the Victorian era to modern day maps and will discuss how the land use of Crowborough has changed.
