Bug Club - this is an excellent resource for your child to use at home.  It offers a range of fiction and nonfiction, set at your child's reading levels.  Click on the bug faces to open up questions to support thier comprehension skills.

Reluctant Readers - if your child is reluctant to read at home, don't despair.  Perhaps offer my turn/your turn and read a page each.  Although it is important that your child read regularly, listening to a story is also important - this opportuntiy often enables them to listen more attentively to vocabulary choices and still allows them to discuss the text with you.
