Magic and Marvel! 

This term we read a lovely book called Leon and the Place Between: wanting to prove to his brothers and sister that magic really exists, Leon volunteers to be in Abdul Kazam's magic show and gets transported to a mysterious world. The children will develop their descriptive writing skills, using expanded noun phrases, similes and using thesauruses to refine their word choices, whilst also continuing to develop their use of alliteration and onomatopoeia.  The children will get opportunities to write diary entries, poetry and portal stories.

In Science we will learn about Magnets and Forces, developing our Year 2 knowledge of pushes and pulls to explore the effects of air resistance, gravity and friction.  They will learn about the poles of magnets and magnetic attraction.  In DT they will continue to practise their stitching to design and make a small bag, and in History we will be finding out about the Bronze Age...
