Welcome back to school!
In History, the children will learn about the Maya civilization, through reading explorers diaries and studying the ruins of ancient cities and the well known ruins of Chichen Itza.
In English, the class will learn skills to write an effective biography on David Attenborough, inter weaving lessons with the essential punctuation and grammar for year 5. This unit of work is rich in language and topical; the importance of our planet, in sustaining life and food. You can support your child by watching some of his documentaries together, for example: Blue Planet. Our Science will support building the children's knowledge on a similar area, as we will study animals and humans.
We will also write poems and explore the features of different types of poetry too.
