Welcome to Term 3 in Indigo Class! We are excited to share what we have planned for this term and how you can get involved in your child's learning journey. Our curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and collaboration, and we look forward to seeing the wonderful projects that will unfold.

This term, our art lessons will focus on awe-inspiring architecture. Students will sketch designs inspired by various structures, ultimately working toward creating a unique model or prototype. While out and about, we encourage you to observe houses and buildings; perhaps some will spark ideas for their designs. Look for beauty, functionality, and energy efficiency in the structures you see!

In English, we will dive into a selection of exciting books that ignite creative writing. One captivating story features an adventurer who bravely survives adverse conditions, and another explores the enchanting "Willow Pattern" tale from ancient China. These narratives will introduce extensive new vocabulary and immerse students in a rich cultural experience. Discussing these stories at home can further inspire their creative writing!

The maths curriculum will kick off with lessons on area and perimeter, leading into the exploration of decimal fractions. Engaging with your child about these topics can help reinforce their understanding and make learning fun. Maybe you could measure spaces at home or in the neighborhood to apply what they learn!

Our science topic this term focuses on "Animals, Including Humans." This fascinating area will involve data analysis of children's growth - integrating math skills and discussions about the rapid transformations from infancy and during childhood to eventual old age. Encouraging conversations about the remarkable changes during babyhood is a fantastic way to nurture their interest in this subject.
