Stone Henge Bronze Age Burial
Year 3 had a fascinating time on Monday afternoon with a visit from two British Heritage volunteers. They talked to the class about life in the Neolithic times; we explored how and why Stonehenge was built and discussed how large crowds would gather to celebrate the summer and winter solstaces. The children got to handle replica artefacts and share their thoughts and ideas. We even reenacted a Bronze Age burial, looking closely at the items people would have chosen to bury with their chief. Many thanks to Gill and David Edwards for coming in to talk to the children, it was lovely to have such passionate experts in class.
