Year 3 Explore Stonehenge with English Heritage

Today, Year 3 welcomed some wonderful visitors from English Heritage, who came to talk to the children about Stonehenge. Throughout the session, the children had many exciting opportunities to learn about why and how Stonehenge was built.

The children shared their ideas and acted out aspects of Stone Age life such as chopping down trees and hunting deer. They also handled replica artefacts, helping them to develop a deeper understanding of life in the past.

At the end of the session, the children examined artefacts that would have been buried with a chief, providing a fascinating insight into Stone Age beliefs and customs.

Our visitors were extremely impressed by the children's enthusiasm, knowledge, thoughtful ideas and insightful questions.  Many thanks to Jill and Davide Edwards for giving up their time to provide such an engaging and memorable experience for Year 3.
