Year 3 Art - Fabric Painting
Fri 22 Mar 2024Year 3 have been exploring the art work of Alice Kettle. She paints gigantic landscapes using paint on fabric and then stitching the detail. Here Year 3 are practising painting on fabric, seeing how colour mixing and brushstrokes have an effect. They also then practised adding stitches to their painted samples. Knot tying, threading needles and working out where to sew were all problems we overcame!
If any year 3 parents would like to support our sewing, we will be doing some more on Monday afternoon!

We also had a keen interest in space and have created fact posters full of information. We had a special visitor who helped the children learn more about the planets, focussing on their size and their distance from the sun. We finished Science week on Friday with a live lesson about ampibians.

Red Nose Day Donation Link - here
Fri 15 Mar 2024On Friday 15th March it will be a non-uniform day and children are invited to wear something red, clothing or an accessory in exchange for a contribution to Comic Relief.
We have decided to support this national event as one of our
charitable campaigns for the year. Many of you will be aware of the good work that this UK charity does. The money you raise could help put food on plates and roofs over heads, keep little ones safe and help support families affected by conflict and
climate change.
This year ParentPay have collaborated with the charity and are offering a donation page for all their users which also allows Gift Aid payments and the funds go directly to the Red Nose Day charity. 99.25% of the donations from Donations Pages goes to Comic
Relief and ParentPay does not profit from donations made.
Please follow the link below to make a donation. Please note that this a is not available on your child’s ParentPay log in—only via this link.
