  • Michael Stevens Award

    Fri 19 Dec 2025 S.Cook

This term the Michael Stevens Award was awarded to Ellis Cheeseman.

Ellis has been working hard this year to make progress and understand. He greets you with a smile every morning and a positive attitude towards everything we do in class. Ellis has particularly worked hard on his reading and talks with enthusiasm when discussing the books he has read. He shows excellent focus and concentration and is a great role model to others.

    Well done Ellis!

  • Panto Time

    Wed 17 Dec 2025 S. Cook

Thank you so much to the Friends of St. Mary’s for your generous support in funding our school trip to the pantomime on Tuesday. The experience was truly magical and created wonderful memories for all the children. From the laughter and excitement to the amazing performances, it was a day everyone will remember fondly. Opportunities like this enrich our pupils’ learning and help bring the curriculum to life beyond the classroom. We are incredibly grateful for your continued dedication and hard work in supporting our school and providing such special experiences for our children. The children thoroughly enjoyed the trip and their exceptional behaviour and good manners were a credit to the school.

  • Year 3 - bread bakers

    Mon 15 Dec 2025 S. Cook

This term, as part of their DT learning, Year 3 have been exploring bread.  They analysed products, discussing the features that they liked or didn't like about different breads.  Then they designed thier own bread before making it.  We worked in groups to make the dough, and after it had risen, we divided it up and selected our own ingredients to add to it!  We even made some other bread to cook on the open fire at Forest School - thinking about Stone Age methods of cooking!

  • Year 4 Athletics

    Thu 11 Dec 2025 S. Cook

Year 4 had a great time  competing against other schools at the Beacon Indoor Athletics Event.  Our children showed great effort, skills and a fantastic team spirit during the competition.  Well done Year 4!

  • Carols at All Saints

    Fri 05 Dec 2025 S. Cook

Last night, the St. Mary's choir joined the Carol Service held at All Saints church. This was the first year we had participated in the event and the choir did us proud!  They sung 'Christmas in your heart' with tender loving care, singing loudly and clearly.

Thank you to all our school community who joined in the festivities.
