  • Internet Safety Week

    Fri 13 Feb 2026 S. Cook

This week, our school has been celebrating Internet Safety! Students in all years learnt how to stay safe, smart, and be kind online. Through fun activities, class discussions, and interactive games, children explored topics such as creating strong passwords, protecting personal information, and being respectful digital citizens. We also talked about what to do if something online makes them feel uncomfortable or unsure. Our goal is to empower every student to use technology confidently and responsibly.

We encourage families to continue these important conversations at home and support safe online habits every day.

  • Year 1 - wonderful wheels

    Fri 06 Feb 2026 S. Cook

Orange Class have been designers and engineers recently - completing their project about explorers with some DT! They designed, made and tested some vehicles for explorers. The class investigated wheels and axles on their favourite toys, used construction toys to practice using different sorts of wheels and axles, created prototypes, then designed, made and evaluated the success of their models.

They created desert rovers, moon buggies and many more!

  • Magnetic Games

    Fri 06 Feb 2026 S. Cook

This term, we have been learning all about magnets and forces. This afternoon, the children discovered that the force of a magnet can travel through paper and card, which helped them to create their own really cool games. There were mazes to navigate, points to collect and objects to catch, and the children came up with some very inventive ideas. They worked cooperatively, discussing their plans and sharing ideas throughout the activity.  Afterwards, they presented their games to the class, explaining their intentions, the rules and what they enjoyed about the project - a great collaborative DT and Science afternoon!

  • Chess Club

    Mon 02 Feb 2026 S. Cook

This week, Miss Cook launched chess club for Years 4 - 6.  Chess is a great game to learn because it helps build mathematical skills and problem-solving ability in a fun way. When you play chess, you are constantly counting moves, recognising patterns, and thinking about position and space on the board, which links closely to maths. You also have to plan ahead, predict what might happen next, and choose the best move from several options. This develops logical thinking and reasoning. Chess teaches you to break big problems into smaller steps, learn from mistakes, and stay focused—all important skills used in maths and real-life problem solving.

Currently spaces are limited, but as the children become more confident with the rules, we hope to open up this opportunity to the younger children too.
