Orange Class Explorers Project
Fri 09 Feb 2024Y1 have finished their 'Great Explorers' project this week by designing, making and testing a vehicle fit for an explorer! They found out about different types of wheels and axles and discovered a little bit about what it might be like to be a designer or an engineer.

Internet Safety Day
Fri 09 Feb 2024This week, we have been focusing on Internet Safety. On Tuesday 6th February, Mr Robinson our online Safety consultant from 'Schools Computing' visited our school.
After holding some parent workshops in the morning, Year 3 and 4 had a work shop to learn all about Internet Safety and the importance of telling trusted adults if something goes wrong.
Year 4 thought about how their gaming behaviour reflects on their identity. They wrote some rules for being a good online gamer.

They researched the artist Andy Goldsworthy and created sculptures using a range of natural resources.

Year 2 created pictograms in computing this week. They worked collaboratively on the laptops and developed their data handing skills.

Green Class - Science Leaning Topic - Friction
Thu 08 Feb 2024Year 3 have been learning about friction by exploring different surfaces and seeing how they affect the motion of a car.
"I think the grass will have the most friction because it is bumpy, it means the car will travel slower." Oralia

Beacon Cluster Athletics Competition
Wed 07 Feb 2024On Wednesday afternoon, a group of Year 5 and 6 pupils attended the Beacon Cluster athletics competition held at Goldsmiths.
Our 18 representatives demonstrated great sportsmanship throughout, encouraging and supporting each other, trying their best in each event and persevering during some new events like javelin and triple jump.
Well done everyone involved for your great determination and efforts. We won a few heats and came 5th overall.

Year 5 Number day videos
Fri 02 Feb 2024Year 5 were seeing how quickly they could recite the alphabet backwards and calculating and comparing the times.
There is also fantastic rap performance!

Visit from Mr Dean about the Church Community
Fri 02 Feb 2024Mr Dean visited Year 4 today to talk about all his roles within our Church Community.
He explained how helping others was rewarding and has inspired Blue Class to help others too.

Year 6 Number day activities
Fri 02 Feb 2024Mr Neill set a number of Number Day challenges for Year 6. They competed against each other to see how many balls they can throw in the bucket from measured distances.
They measured how far they could do a standing long jump.
They competed in speed trials to stack 15 cups.
Well done to all the fabulous rocks stars that took part.

Gymnastic lessons in Orange class
Fri 02 Feb 2024Orange Class have been enjoying their gymnastics lessons where they have been using a range of equipment.
So far, we have focused on using the equipment safely, travelling and balancing. Great work Orange Class.
