Green Class Visitors to talk about Stonehenge
Thu 29 Feb 2024On Wednesday, we welcomed Mr. and Mrs. Edwards to school, who used to volunteer at Stonehenge.
They talked to Year 3 about the importance of Stonehenge, thinking about how it was formed, when it was built and why it was formed. The children got to handle replica artefacts and discuss their ideas.
At the end of the afternoon, they re-enacted a Neolithic burial, looking at the objects that would have been buried with important and influential chieftains in the barrows surrounding the henge.
Many thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Edwards for giving up your time to talk to the children, they had a very enjoyable and informative afternoon.

Beacon Cluster Stingers Netball Tournament - Year 6
Wed 28 Feb 2024On Wednesday, a group of Year 6 children went to Beacon to take part in a netball tournament.
It was a wonderful opportunity to develop their sporting skills as this was a new sport for many. They needed to change position every half, learning about marking, attacking, passing, defending, intercepting and shooting. It was great to see them persevere with a new sport and demonstrate excellent sportsmanship throughout.
Well done to everyone involved!

Red Nose Day 15th March 2024 - Link to Comic Relief donations page.
Fri 23 Feb 2024On Friday 15th March it will be a non-uniform day and children are invited to wear something red, clothing or an accessory in exchange for a contribution to Comic Relief.
We have decided to support this national event as one of our
charitable campaigns for the year. Many of you will be aware of the good work that this UK charity does. The money you raise could help put food on plates and roofs over heads, keep little ones safe and help support families affected by conflict and
climate change.
This year ParentPay have collaborated with the charity and are offering a donation page for all their users which also allows Gift Aid payments and the funds go directly to the Red Nose Day charity. 99.25% of the donations from Donations Pages goes to Comic
Relief and ParentPay does not profit from donations made.
Please follow the link below to make a donation. Please note that this a is not available on your child’s ParentPay log in—only via this link.

Year 2 class visit to the Post Office and an extra stop at the Police Station.
Wed 21 Feb 2024In their English lessons, the children in Year 2 have been learning how to write an informal letter and they were very excited to write a letter to a friend in their class.
On Wednesday, the children visited the Post Office on Croft Road to post their letters. The Post Master explained to the children that their letters would be sent to the sorting office in Gatwick and then sent to the local delivery office back in Crowborough.
The children had an extra treat on the way back to school as we popped into the Police Station to meet PCSO Amy who talked to the children and showed the children the police cars.
