  • Beacon Cluster Stingers Netball Tournament - Year 6

    Wed 28 Feb 2024

On Wednesday, a group of Year 6 children went to Beacon to take part in a netball tournament.

It was a wonderful opportunity to develop their sporting skills as this was a new sport for many.  They needed to change position every half, learning about marking, attacking, passing, defending, intercepting and shooting.  It was great to see them persevere with a new sport and demonstrate excellent sportsmanship throughout.

    Well done to everyone involved!

  • Red Nose Day 15th March 2024 - Link to Comic Relief donations page.

    Fri 23 Feb 2024

On Friday 15th March it will be a non-uniform day and children are invited to wear something red, clothing or an accessory in exchange for a contribution to Comic Relief.

We have decided to support this national event as one of our

charitable campaigns for the year.  Many of you will be aware of the good work that this UK charity does. The money you raise could help put food on plates and roofs over heads, keep little ones safe and help support families affected by conflict and

    climate change.

This year ParentPay have collaborated with the charity and are offering a donation page for all their users which also allows Gift Aid payments and the funds go directly to the Red Nose Day charity. 99.25% of the donations from Donations Pages goes to Comic

Relief and ParentPay does not profit from donations made.

Please follow the link below to make a donation.  Please note that this a is not available on your child’s ParentPay log in—only via this link.

  • Year 2 class visit to the Post Office and an extra stop at the Police Station.

    Wed 21 Feb 2024

In their English lessons, the children in Year 2 have been learning how to write an informal letter and they were very excited to write a letter to a friend in their class.

On Wednesday, the children visited the Post Office on Croft Road to post their letters. The Post Master explained to the children that their letters would be sent to the sorting office in Gatwick and then sent to the local delivery office back in Crowborough.

The children had an extra treat on the way back to school as we popped into the Police Station to meet PCSO Amy who talked to the children and showed the children the police cars.

  • Year 3 Invasion Games Skills

    Tue 20 Feb 2024

This term, Year 3 will be developing their invasion games skills in PE.  They are starting with Netball and will hopefully be moving on to Handball.  Today they learnt about different passes (chest and bounce) and developed their accuracy with throwing and catching.  They also played small games with a defender trying to intercept the ball.  Next week we will look at other passes and pivoting.  Lessons are outside (unless it is pouring with rain) so trainers are essential.  Your child may also be happier with leggings or jogging bottoms - these should be plain, darker colours are preferred.

  • 100 Days at School

    Mon 19 Feb 2024

Monday marked our 100th day in school since the start of the new school year..

Year 3 celebrated this occasion by working out calculations which totalled 100, using their understanding of place value to complete a 100 square, and then also talking about the future and planning what the world would look like in 100 years time!

Year 2 thought about the last 100 days they have spent at school, how they have changed and how they have grown.  They then spent some time thinking about what the next 90 days will look like and how important it is to be at school learning!

  • Team day

    Fri 09 Feb 2024

Today's TEAM day focused on our voice matters.

Year 3 started the day by reflecting on moments that have made them proud.  We then ended the day by creating some art work to show what matters to them.  Classmates, family, animals, and maths all featured highly.  It is important that our children's thoughts, feelings and opinions are valued so that thier ideas can be heard.  This provided a great opportunity to share what's important to them!

After holding some parent workshops in the morning,  Year 3 and 4 had a work shop to learn all about Internet Safety and the importance of telling trusted adults if something goes wrong.

Year 4 thought about how their gaming behaviour reflects on their identity.  They wrote some rules for being a good online gamer.
