  • Year 3 and 4 Advent Service 13-12-23

    Wed 13 Dec 2023

The Year 3 and 4 children delighted us this week with their retelling of the nativity.

They worked hard to learn their lines and enjoyed singing some traditional Christmas carols.

They had lots of fun with the bells and glockenspiels, and performing actions to accompany the lyrics to the songs.

Well done to all those who took part and thank you to our families who were able to come and support us.

  • Orange Class - RE Learning this week.

Thu 07 Dec 2023 Miss Russell

In RE, Orange Class have been learning about how Mary is honoured around the world. They learnt about how flowers, candles, prayers and pilgrimages are all used to do this. The children then made their own flower crowns. These will also be used when they have their Christmas celebration next week.

  • Polar Express Day - Year 2

    Thu 07 Dec 2023

The children in Year 2 had a fantastic Polar Express day on Thursday! First, we read some of the book and highlighted key words in pairs. After that, they enjoyed making a golden train ticket and spent time writing the first part of the story, imagining that a steam train had arrived on their front garden on Christmas Eve. It was then time for the train journey! We drank hot chocolate, ate biscuits and snuggled down in our pyjamas to watch some more of the film.

  • Nativity Performances by Key Stage One

    Wed 06 Dec 2023

Here are some pictures of our wonderful children in Key Stage One performing their Nativity this week.

  • Year 3 Earthquake Learning

Tue 05 Dec 2023 Miss Cook

Year 3 have been learning all about Earthquakes.  They have been working together to make different structures and testing them out to see which ones would last the longest on their earthquake jelly!

They learnt that triangles were stronger than squares and the lower buildings lasted longer than taller ones. The children then tried strengthening  their ideas by experimenting with double sticks and adding spikes into the jelly to secure them into the ground.  They also discovered that the buildings with a wider base were stronger and wobbled less.
