  • Year 2 - Samba music

    Thu 18 Jul 2024

On Tuesday 16th July, the children in Year 2 were visited by musician Daniel Gilmore who taught them about Samba music. This was a treat paid for by the money raised by the Year 2 cake sale this year. The children had a wonderful time learning about the different instruments used in Samba music and about the different features of Samba music. They even had the opportunity to dress up ready for a carnival! The children played in the Rainbow Retreat and beautiful music could be heard throughout the school building.

  • Changes in Nature Project

    Thu 11 Jul 2024

Last term Crowborough schools were invited by Green Transition Crowborough to take part in a project called 'Changes in Nature'. We were asked to respond to the title in a creative way. Alongside our work about Pope Francis and his Laudato Si commitments to our planet, each class created leaves showing their positive actions for planet Earth.

Mrs Thorpe has now combined these leaves and other work to create a 'Tree Of All Seasons' which demonstrates our responsibilities to our planet.

We are excited that our Tree Of All Seasons will now be on display, at Crowfest on Saturday 13th July from 1-4.30pm. There will also be contributions from other Crowborough schools.

All displays will then be shown at Crowborough Community Centre over the summer.

Mrs Tabassi-Gill  will be at the Crowfest event to explain our display to visitors, so please do drop in to have a look!

A huge thank you to my wonderful Gardening Club Team. Most of you will be moving onto secondary school but I wanted to say a massive thank you for being so enthusiastic come rain or shine. Our veggie plot has grown bigger and better thanks to your dedication and hard work and a wonderful legacy to leave for the next green fingered team.

A special thank you to Mr Martin whose gardening knowledge will remain with you forever.

  • Year 3 DT

    Fri 05 Jul 2024

Year 3 have had an exciting time designing and making their own bags.  They first had to practice joining materials together, before drawing plans and making paper prototypes which helped them think about the order that they would need to do things in.  Finally, they had a fabulous session with the fabric and thread, working cooperatively together to make their own bags.

Here's some of the things the children said about their project:

I love the handle of my bag because I can carry it around all day long!

Cutting the fabric was rather tricker so my friend stretched it to help me cut it easily.

I'm really proud of my work because it looks great!

It was really difficult to do but I'm proud of myself!
