    Thu 18 Jul 2024

Today we bid farewell to our Year 6 pupils and sent them our best wishes as they transition over the summer to their new schools. They have been a credit to our school throughout their time here at St Mary's and we hope they will always come back and visit us so they can share their news about their next ventures, as they move on through the next part of their journey in education.

  • Changes in Nature Project Update

    Thu 18 Jul 2024

Last term Crowborough schools were invited by Green Transition Crowborough to take part in a project called 'Changes in Nature'. We were asked to respond to the title in a creative way. Alongside our work about Pope Francis and his Laudato Si commitments to our planet, each class created leaves showing their positive actions for planet Earth.

Mrs Thorpe has now combined these leaves and other work to create a 'Tree Of All Seasons' which demonstrates our responsibilities to our planet.

We are excited that our Tree Of All Seasons will now be on display, at Crowborough Community Centre over the summer.

Her very proud family were invited to the assembly to see her presented with the award.

On Tuesday 16th July, the children in Year 2 were visited by musician Daniel Gilmore who taught them about Samba music. This was a treat paid for by the money raised by the Year 2 cake sale this year. The children had a wonderful time learning about the different instruments used in Samba music and about the different features of Samba music. They even had the opportunity to dress up ready for a carnival! The children played in the Rainbow Retreat and beautiful music could be heard throughout the school building.

Next, we watched videos to learn how to cut and grate the vegetables safely. Lastly, we made and ate our delicious, tasty salads!
