Forest School - Year 6
Tue 28 Jan 2025Year 6 enjoyed getting back to Forest School this week. They tried out our new mud pit (we are very grateful to Mr Sculley for donating his time to creating this area for us!), remembered our woodworking skills and enjoyed some games. Lots still to do in our next four Forest School sessions though!

Parish Mass - Launch of the Jubilee Year

Year 3 Cake sale
Mon 20 Jan 2025Thank you very much for your support on Friday for Year 3's class cake sale. We had a lovely time designing advertising posters and decorating cakes to sell. We really appreciate your kind support in heling us raise class funds and are looking forward to spending our money on a class treat!

Year 3 Maths this week
Wed 08 Jan 2025Year three had lots of fun in the snow as they practised their turns. In maths, we have been learning about half, quarter, three quarters and full turns. Using our arms outstretched like hands of a clock has helped us accurately turn clockwise and anticlockwise. We have been making connections between the amount of turn and the number of right angles.

Michael Stevens Award

'being tenacious in her approach and attitude towards her learning and school life and for showing excellent behaviour at all times. She is also supportive to everyone - showing sensitivity to the needs of others, readily and proactively offering her help. Molly is someone who embodies the ethos at St Mary’s and her kindness and compassion shines through.'

Fossils
Fri 20 Dec 2024This week, Year 3 have been finding out how fossils are formed. They used their reading and sequencing skills to order the different stages of the process and then watched a video to check their ideas. After collaborating with others, they made some rearrangements if necessary and then recoded the process on a zig zag book to show how long it takes! Great ideas and fabulous presentation, well done Year 3!

Our whole school trip to the Pantomime
Tue 17 Dec 2024Today the whole school went to the Pantomime at Tunbridge Wells to see a performance of 'Aladdin'. It was a fantastic show which we all enjoyed and even included a star performance by our very own Assistant Headteacher - Mr Neill. A big thank you to the Friends of St Mary's for raising the funds for our whole school to attend this special annual event. We are truly grateful to all our families and community for all you do to support the Friends of St Mary's events which in turn allows the school to do amazing things such as this!

Gymnastics - Year 6
Tue 17 Dec 2024Year 6 completed our gymnastics unit last week. We worked in groups to create and perform short routines to show the rolls, balances and shapes we have worked on this term.
